Man charged after collision involving garda vehicle

A man in his 30s has been charged following a two-vehicle traffic collision in Convoy yesterday involving a garda vehicle.

One of the two cars was an on duty official garda vehicle driven by a male garda member.

The garda member did not receive medical attention at the scene of the collision, which occurred shortly before 5pm yesterday on the R236.  He has subsequently reported unfit to return to duty.

The driver of the other vehicle did not receive medical attention at the scene.

He was arrested and taken to Letterkenny Garda Station. He was later charged and released to appear before Letterkenny District Court at a later date.
