GARDAÍ are investigating a report of an alleged assault that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning after a man was assaulted by a group of four or five males unknown to him.
The man has been walking from Downings in the direction of the Coastguard Cottages at Kinnalargy at 3.45am when he was attacked.
The injured man sought medical attention and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening in nature.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage from the Kinalargy, Rossapenna road in Downings between 3am and 4.15am on Sunday, May 18 to get in touch with them in Milford on (074) 9153060.
