A MAN was arrested for a number of road offences following a high speed chase involving several Garda patrol cars on Wednesday night. A vehicle was eventually stopped in Lifford and one man in his 20s was arrested and taken to Letterkenny Garda Station.
Witnesses reported a number of Garda vehicles following the vehicle on the Letterkenny to Lifford road.
It is understood one Garda vehicle was damaged during the chase. The man was charged in relation to the incident.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told the Donegal News Gardai in Letterkenny observed a car acting suspiciously in the Killyclug area at approximately 8:15pm on April 11. The car failed to stop and committed numerous dangerous driving offences. It is understood the car was stopped at Lifford by four Garda patrol cars and one unmarked car.
“A man in his mid 20s was arrested and taken to Letterkenny Garda Station. The man has been charged in relation to this incident and is due to appear at Letterkenny District Court on April 23, at 10:30am,” they continued.
