Man arrested following incident at Dungloe Post Office

A man was arrested in connection with an incident at the Post Office in Dungloe on Friday.

There were reports of a disturbance on the premises at around lunchtime and the Post Office closed to the public soon after.

It’s understood a customer became agitated and began threatening staff. 

Gardaí last evening confirmed that a man in his 20s was arrested following an incident and investigations are ongoing.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí responded to reports of a disturbance at a premises in Dungloe shortly after 1pm on Friday.

“A male in his 20s was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident under the Public Order Act. Investigations are ongoing.”
