Man arrested after Bundoran crash

A MAN in his twenties has been arrested after he presented himself to Gardaí in Ballyshannon following a crash that claimed the lives of two people in the early hours of this morning.

Gardai said the man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Ballyshannon Garda Station and that investigations are ongoing.

The single vehicle collision occurred at Eastend, Bundoran at 3.25am and a man and a woman, both in their twenties and both passengers in the vehicle, were killed when it collided with a wall. Their bodies have been removed to the morgue in Sligo General Hospital.

Another woman, in her mid twenties is in critical condition and another two men also in their mid twenties have serious injuries and were removed to Sligo General Hospital.
