A MAN in his 80s has pleaded guilty on a signed plea to respective charges of rape and sexual assault.
The accused appeared at this week’s sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court to affirm the plea.
He is charged with rape on dates between December 2020 and January 2023. He also faces four charges of sexual assault during the same period.
Appearing for the accused, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his victims, Colm Smyth, S.C. asked for the preparation of a probation and welfare report.
The man is to be sentenced at the next sitting of the Circuit Court in February 2026
