The man sustained cuts to his head and face and had his clothing torn off by two men during the assault in the Oldtown Road area of the town at 1.50 am on Sunday.
A garda spokesman told the Donegal News they were investigating the incident.

A 31-years-old Belfast man was dragged into an alleyway and beaten during an assault in Letterkenny at the weekend, gardai have confirmed.
