ACTOR Dominic Cooper appeared on RTÉ’s Late Late Show on Friday night. The star who’s best known for playing Sky Rymand in Mama Mia spoke highly about Donegal in the recent interview.
Cooper is currently promoting his new film ‘The Lightkeeper’ which was filmed in Inishowen in 2023. Locations such as Malin Head and Culdaff were used during filming.
Cooper plays Seamus, a lighthouse keeper who lives an isolated life.
Cooper and his co-stars spent a lot of time in Donegal while shooting the film.
The actor spoke with Patrick Kielty about losing his mother shortly before filming. He says the time he spent in Donegal was “very healing.”
He praised the “wonderful” people of Donegal who he spent time singing and playing music.
Dominic also spoke about how much he admired the Donegal landscape, he said it’s “unlike anywhere I’ve ever been.”
‘The Lightkeeper’ film will have its first viewing at the Dublin International Film Festival on Saturday February 21.
