SCOIL Eoghain National School in Moville is set to undergo a significant expansion with the addition of a new mainstream classroom and a special education teaching room.
This development marks an important milestone for the school, enhancing its capacity to support both its students and the broader community.
The announcement has been warmly welcomed by local representatives, including Donegal Minister Charlie McConalogue.
He expressed his gratitude to the school’s principal, staff, and board of management for their dedication and hard work in bringing the project to this pivotal stage.
“This is great news for the school and for the town of Moville,” he said.
A letter of intent has already been issued to the successful contractor, signalling the awarding of the contract for this much-anticipated construction project.
Before the Department of Education can issue a formal letter of acceptance, a mandatory 14-day standstill period must be observed.
Minister McConalogue also took the opportunity to commend the efforts of Minister for Education, Norma Foley, in facilitating the project.
“This new extension will be a welcome development for the school community, and I look forward to seeing the extension getting underway as soon as possible,” he added.
