Major expansion plans for Donegal company

Engineering company E+I Engineering are planning on increasing their workforce to 1,000 staff, creating around 200 jobs over the next couple of years, the Donegal News can reveal.

Owner of the company, Philip O’Doherty explained this is part of an ongoing expansion which will also see an extension at their Burnfoot factory. The 40,000 square foot extension is due to be completed in October which will enable the company to begin recruiting the extra staff. The new jobs will be in the areas of production operations, design and administration staff.

Mr O’Doherty praised the dedication and the quality of the workforce in Donegal saying it is because of them that this expansion is happening. He said the workforce in the county is “first class” and “highly educated”. The company currently employees 800 staff in Donegal.

“We have a fabulous workforce in Donegal. One of the reasons for the expansion is because of the company’s performance and the employees,” he said.

On Tuesday, Sepetmber 11 An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar will visit the site to offically make the jobs announcement.
