MOTORISTS are being advised to avoid the Lifford Road into Strabane as firefighters tackle a major blaze.
Flames can be seen at the rear of Doherty’s Coffin Makers on the town’s Railway Road while it is understood adjoining businesses are also impacted.
Early indications suggest the fire may have been started by a lightning strike.
Fire crews from Omagh and Derry have been drafted in as personnel try to bring the blaze under control.
Police are on the scene and the road has been cordoned off.
Strabane Sinn Féin Councillor Michaela Boyle requested that people across the town keep their doors and windows closed as thick black smoke drifted from the blaze site.
