Letterkenny woman Maggie McDaid recently turned her 60th birthday into a special charity event.
She hosted a birthday bash in the Station House Hotel and told guests that instead of birthday cards and presents, they could instead make a donation to her fundraising efforts.
All money raised on the night was going to Donegal Hospice and the TJ’s Wish to Walk fund.
And what a brilliant success the event turned out to be with over €5,000 raised for charity.
This week Maggie presented cheques for €2,575 each to the Donegal Hospice and to the ‘TJWISH2WALK‘ fund.
The ‘TJWISH2WALK‘ fund was set up to support Maggie’s cousin, three-year-old TJ McDaid, who is undergoing specialist physiotherapy treatment in Budapest.
