Abbey Vocational School 2-5 St Patrick’s, Maghera 0-12
Abbey Vocational School suffered a heart breaking one point defeat in the MacRory Cup final at the hands of St Patrick’s Maghera in Celtic Park on Sunday.
Stuart McFadden’s men had a dream start as Conor McCahill hit two goals inside ten minutes and they were 2-1 to 0-1 ahead.
A wasteful Maghera side brought it back to a four point game at the break as Turlough Carr got Abbey’s only other score of the first half.
They then went another 20 minutes without a score as St Pat’s hit seven on the trot to take the lead.
McCahill and a point each from the Carr’s, Tomás and Turlough, made it a one point game coming into added time but they couldn’t get the decisive score to bring the game to a replay.
