By Frank Craig

Odhran MacNaillais won’t be returning to the Donegal fold in 2020.

The mercurial Gaoth Dobair man confirmed his intentions to the Donegal News on Monday.

It’s a blow to Declan Bonner who had been trying to coax the player back into the Tir Chonaill reckoning for the past number of months.

MacNiallais took a break from county football last year in the wake of the tragic death of four young men from the area in a car crash, including Mac Niallais’s close friend Micheál Roarty.

In his absence, Donegal retained their Ulster title this year but failed to progress to the All-Ireland semi-finals for the second successive season.

Donegal get the new season under way this Sunday when they tangle with Monaghan in the McKenna Cup.
