MACE shops throughout Donegal get behind Debra Ireland

MACE retailers from all over Donegal are taking part in a fundraiser in aid of Debra Ireland this week.

When Emma Fogarty, Debra Patient Ambassador, was born with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) her parents were told she would not live past one week.

EB is an incurable and painful genetic skin condition, also known as ‘Butterfly Skin’, as the skin of people with EB breaks and tears at the slightest touch.

As she continues to beat all odds, this year Ms Fogarty turned 40-years-old, which is sadly rare for someone living with EB.

To celebrate her 40th birthday, staff from Brogan’s Dry Arch, O’Donnell’s Crolly and Kilmacreenan and McNulty’s Stranorlar are walking 40,000 steps or running a collective 40km this week to raise funds for this worthy cause.

Funds raised go directly to Debra who are dedicated to transforming the lives of people living with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), caring for someone with EB, or bereaved by EB, through care, research and advocacy.
