EARLY indications show that Sinn Fein’s Pádraig Mac Lochlainn is polling very well in the Inishowen electoral area securing 4,599 first preference votes so far.
The latest tally figures show the Buncrana candidate has secured 41.8 per cent of the vote in Inishowen followed by Fianna Fail’s Charlie McConalogue (2,837). The figures relate to 35 of the boxes opened with 23 boxes still to be opened in the electoral area. McConalogue’s share of first preferences are significantly down in this area.
Sinn Fein’s Pearse Doherty received 11.7 per cent of the first preferences in this area, 1,291 votes.
