However, Michael Murphy’s Letterkenny hit back with the final three points of the first half from Michael Langan, Caoimhin Marley, and Aaron Gillooley and they led by the minimum at the break.

IT Carlow notched the first two points after the restart, before Michael Langan equalised in the 40th minute.

Peadar Mogan pushed Murphy’s men in front but they were then dealt a blow when Darragh Black was sent off after picking up a second yellow card.

Michael Langan added a point for Letterkenny but Carlow scored 1-1 in quick succession with Evan Lowry hitting the net.

Carlow soon moved four ahead but Michael Langan responded with a free before Marley scored a goal and that levelled the game.

However, there was still time for Adam Steed to fist in a winning goal and IT Carlow advance to the Sigerson decider where they will face DCU.
