LUCKY Letterkenny woman, Mary Foley came home with a total prize worth €20,000 after she took part in the final of the popular TV Money Spinner programme last Saturday.
The National Lottery’s final Money Spinner event was presented by Brian Ormond and took place at National Lottery Headquarters in Dublin. Mary joined four other players from Dublin, Offaly and Kerry who won prizes to the value of €135,000.The biggest winner on the day was Des Murphy from Co. Offaly who won prizes to the value of €51,500.
Mary won prizes totalling €20,000 invlding a city break valued at €5,000. Following her success on the gameshow, Mary said she has no plans as to how she will spend her winnings but said her family will be number one. She is married to Noel. They have four children – Ronan, Tracey, Barry and Simon, and four grandchildren – Jason (9), Aisling (5), Amy (2 in November), and Abby (1). Mary retired two years ago from the AIB in Letterkenny.
Mary and Noel like walking and have done the Camino in Spain over the past few years. She also plays golf. Mary bought her lucky scratch card while on holiday in Foynes County Limerick, where she’s originally from and was gobsmacked when she got the call from the National Lottery to say she was on the show.
