Lower Main Street remains closed as gardaí appeal for witnesses

LOWER Main Street in Letterkenny remains closed this afternoon after a man in his 80s was seriously injured when he was struck by a car in the area yesterday.

The pedestrian was conveyed to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The scene is preserved for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and remains closed at this time.

Local diversions are in place.

Meanwhile, gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users, who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12.15pm and 1.15pm on Thursday, January 15 are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

Investigations are ongoing.
