In 2023, #LoveDonegal Day took the world by storm.

What started as a local campaign quickly became an international sensation, with the hashtag reaching an astounding global audience of 85 million in just 24 hours.

By the weekend, this figure had soared to nearly 125 million, proving that the love for Donegal knows no bounds.

#LoveDonegal is more than just a social media trend; it’s a powerful day that unites people from all walks of life who share a connection to Donegal.

It’s a day to celebrate the county’s breath-taking landscapes, rich culture, and the warm, welcoming spirit of its people.

Cathaoirleach Cllr. Niamh Kennedy is rallying everyone to get involved this year.

“I’m calling on all the people of Donegal near and far to give a huge shout out to the place they call home and to support #LoveDonegal Day on Wednesday, 25th September,” she urged.
