Long lands crucial goal for Glenfin

Glenfin 1-5 St Michael’s 0-5

JACK Long scored the crucial goal as Glenfin got their Senior Football Championship campaign off to a winning start against St Michael’s at a drenched Pairc Tabhoige this evening.

The conditions were atrocious and that led to a low-scoring match.

Glenfin were 0-4 to 0-2 ahead at half-time, and St Michael’s did rally in the third quarter.

However, Long’s well-taken goal put Glenfin four points up.

Carlos O’Reilly replied immediately with a great score, but St Michael’s kicked a string of wides down the home straight and Glenfin deserved their win.
