THE Emergency Department at Letterkenny University Hospital is very busy this afternoon with more than 30 patients awaiting admission to the hospital.
The Saolta Healthcare Group confirmed the news in a short statement released shortly before 4pm.
“Patients attending the hospital’s Emergency Department this evening can expect long delays and we apologise to patients and their families for these delays.
“We would like to remind the public to attend the Emergency Department only in the case of real emergencies and they should contact their GP or GP Out-of-Hours service in the first instance,” the statement read.
