ELECTION 2024: Long day in Glenties comes to an end with final seats filled

As the race for the four remaining seats in the Glenties Electoral Area intensified on Sunday evening, a brief power outage left candidates, the media and most importantly, electoral staff counting ballot papers in the Highland’s Hotel, in darkness.

But once power was restored, the final seats were eventually filled on the 10th count with Brian Carr (SF), Denis McGee (100% Redress) and John Shéamais O’Fearraigh (SF) elected.

Anthony Molloy (FF) retained his seat after passing the quota on the 9th count.

Final count results
