LOCAL historian Tony Gallinagh will launch the second edition of his book ‘A long journey in a short time’ in Alexander’s Book Shop in Ballybofey, on Wednesday, February 11.
So popular is Tony’s new book that the first edition of 400 copies was a sell out.
This long awaited second edition is generating significant interest in the Finn Valley and further afield.
Tony, now in his 92nd year, has been collecting history, memories and folklore all his life. This new edition of 54 chapters and 276 pages,will contain revised versions of his first book while adding four new chapters
Castles and Landlords in the Finn Valley, The birth of the Twin Towns, Murders and Curiosities in the Finn Valley, The Burning of Ballybofey, Murphy’s Hall and the AOH, Local Fordes and Bridges, are just some of the chapters that you can enjoy.
This book is a must for anyone with an interest in local history.
Next Wednesday’s launch in Alexander’s Book Shop in Ballybofey will take place from 6.30pm to 9pm.
