Local talent to stage The Happy Prince

AN exquisite Donegal-inspired orchestral and storytelling adaptation of a favourite Oscar Wilde will take to the stage this weekend.

The Donegal Gathering 2012 presents The Happy Prince at An Grianán Theatre on Saturday (7pm) and Sunday( 3pm) and in the Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon on April 21.

The Happy Prince is a music theatre project commissioned by Donegal County Council Public Art and in association with Donegal VEC Music Education Partnership and An Grianán Theatre.

The Happy Prince has been scripted by Little John Nee with a musical score composed and conducted by Vincent Kennedy. The music is played by the Donegal Music Education Partnership’s Youth Orchestra and sung by their Donegal Youth Choir.

A family show, suitable for ages from 5 plus, it is 50 minutes in duration, and explores the timeless themes of love, friendship and compassion.

The tickets are €10 for adults and €5 for children and can also avail of family of four tickets for €25 (2 adults and 2 children).
