A well-known restaurant in South Donegal, Mani’s Bar and Bistro, was significantly damaged in a fire that broke out early this morning at approximately 3 a.m.
Gardaí and emergency services responded promptly to the blaze at the establishment on Pettigo’s Main Street.
In a statement posted on social media, the restaurant reassured the community that “thankfully, no one was injured” in the incident.
However, they also confirmed that the restaurant would remain closed until further notice as they await a full inspection to determine the extent of the damage.
Sharing the news on Facebook, the restaurant expressed their sorrow, stating: “With a very heavy heart, we would like to announce that Mani’s Bar and Bistro is closed until further notice. Apologies to all the customers with bookings for this week and the following ones.”
They added: “As many of you might know and notice, we had a fire in our building last night. Fortunately, nobody got hurt, and everyone is well and safe.”
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, and the owners are awaiting further information.
“We don’t know what caused it yet and how much we have lost. For that, we are waiting for the inspection and the insurance company,” they explained.
Despite the setback, the restaurant owners expressed deep gratitude for the community’s support, adding: “We thank each and every one of you who have been such an amazing support for our business until now, and all of you who are sending us messages, giving us even more support and empathy. We really appreciate it!”
They finished the post with: “We hope to have better news soon.”
