Local groups receive funding from Gaoth Dobhair windfarm

AT a presentation ceremony in Ionad Naomh Pádraig, Dore, Gaoth Dobhair recently Eoghan and Owenie Gillespie of Cronalaght Wind Mills presented a grand total of €76,500 to voluntary groups, schools and sports clubs in the locality.

The local St. Vincent De Paul Society received the generous sum of €50,000.

They presented €2,000 to each of the following: Donegal Cancer Flights and Services, and Ionad Naomh Pádraig, Dore.

The following schools received €1,500 each: Scoil Chonaill, Bunbeg, Scoil Phádraig, Dore, Scoil Naomh Dúigh, Annagry, Scoil Oilibheir

Pluincéad, Rann na Feirste, Scoil Eoin Pól, Loughanure, Scoil Mhuire, Derrybeg, Scoil Adhamhnáin, Lunniagh, Scoil Bhríde, Meenacladdy and Pobal Scoil Ghaoth Dobhair.

The following received €1,000: Ionad Lae Ghaoth Dobhair, Comharchumann Forbartha Ghaoth Dobhair, Naíolann Ghaoth Dobhair, CLG Ghaoth Dobhair, Ceiltigh Ghaoth Dobhair, Gaoth Dobhair Aontaithe, Ceiltigh Dhún Lúiche, Galf Chumann Ghaoth Dobhair.

Scioból na bhFear and Scioból na mBan received €500 each.

Mary Coyle, Manager of Ionad Naomh Pádraig, Dore said the various groups are extremely grateful to the Gaoth Dobhair based Cronalaght Wind Mills Company for the generous donations to various groups each year.

She added that two groups, Ionad Naomh Pádraig, Dore and the Donegal Cancer Flights in which she is involved with received a very generous donation of €2,000 each.
