Local artists bring coastal wonders to life at Kevin Lowery Gallery

The Kevin Lowery Gallery was filled with excitement on Friday night as art lovers gathered for the latest instalment of this year’s Donegal Bay and Blue Stacks Festival.

The gallery unveiled its newest exhibition, “Between Land and Sea: Reflections on the North West Coast,” featuring the works of ten talented local artists from Donegal, Leitrim, and Sligo.

These artists responded to an open call issued in August, submitting pieces inspired by the dramatic beauty of the North West coastline.

The exhibition celebrates the shared Atlantic shoreline that connects these three counties, a landscape that has fuelled artistic inspiration for generations.

Shannon Carroll, the gallery manager and curator of the exhibition, officially opened the event.

In her opening words, she highlighted the gallery’s proximity to the sea and the North West coastline’s “profound influence on the traditions of local communities and creative talent drawing inspiration from this distinctive landscape.”

Also in attendance was Traolach Ó Fionnáin, Donegal Arts Officer and Festival organiser, who took the opportunity to meet the artists and celebrate the success of the event.

The exhibition features over 20 stunning artworks, including paintings, photography, sculpture, and prints; all of which are available for purchase.

This exhibition is not to be missed, offering “free entry,” “free parking” at the Bundoran Retail Park, and a “diverse collection of artworks that promise something for everyone.”

The exhibition is open daily from 10 AM to 5:30 PM until Sunday, October 13th.
