Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair launches live on Rónán Beo on Friday
On Friday, Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair 2015 will be launched live on Rónán Beo @3 on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.
This year’s Scoil Gheimhridh Ghaoth Dobhair will run from 27th December to 1st January, with sessions, concerts and workshops with some of the country’s top trad and folk musicians featuring in the line-up.
On Friday at 3pm, Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí will be joined in RnaG’s Doirí Beaga studio by Belfast singer Gráinne Holland, fiddler Séamus McGuire from Buttons and Bows, and young musicians An Crann Óg from Gaoth Dobhair, for a live music session to launch the school and give listeners a taste of what’s to come this year.
Gráinne Holland will also be on stage in Hiúdaí Beag’s in Gaoth Dobhair on Saturday night 28th November for the Cabaret Craiceáilte. The Cabaret will also feature talented singers Brian Danny Minnie Ó Domhnaill and Diane Cannon, both fresh from their recent Oireachtas festival wins, young band Dúchas from the Carn Tochar Gaeltacht in Derry, and Patsy Dan Rogers, King of Tory Island, amongst others .
