Lighting up the star this Christmas in Letterkenny

WITH the Christmas lights shining bright in Letterkenny, the countdown is on until the big day.

The town is getting busier and shops are trying to get used to the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping.

To mark the Christmas season members of Letterkenny Chamber Council gathered at the Polestar to mark the switching on of this landmark star.

The Star of Hope as it was called during Covid-19 shines as a beacon for everyone coming to Letterkenny.

The President of Letterkenny Chamber, Kristine Reynolds said this year started with hope and expectation, but it has been a tough year for many in our community.

“The star gives us a focus and reminds us that there is always hope as we navigate life. The star that sits in the middle of the iconic polestar is a perfect welcome to anyone coming to the town or further afield,” she said.

With the Christmas season well and truly started it is important to remember to support local businesses where possible.

For the best in Christmas shopping it #hastobeletterkenny.
