LIFFORD has been dealt an economic blow with the news that the town’s greyhound stadium is to close.
The track, one of 18 in Ireland, will close its doors next Saturday night.
A spokesperson for the stadium said they were “completely broken-hearted” but that a “lack of support” from the Irish Greyhound Stadium had left them with no choice but to pull the shutters.
“While this has not been an easy decision to make, we would like to thank all the owners, trainers, customers and all the hard working staff that have helped us over the last 15 years,” said a spokesperson.
