LETTERKENNY General hospital was nearly €8 million over budget at the end of September – the equivalent of 10.9 per cent of its annual budgetary allocation – according to the most recent figures published by the Health Service Executive. The report, which was circulated to members of the HSE West in Galway on Tuesday, says that the hospitals in the region are more than €49 million in the red between them.
