Letterkenny’s Summer Sessions 2024: Gate times, line up, car parking and restricted items

SUMMER Sessions Letterkenny is about to take the town by storm from the 15th to the 18th of August 2024.

The festival promises an exciting blend of live music, thrilling funfair rides, tasty food stalls, and a fully licensed bar.

Held at Kiltoy, Letterkenny (Eircode F92C57F), just an eight-minute walk from the town centre, the festival offers easy access to all local amenities.

The festivities kick off on Thursday, August 15th, with Summer Night, headlined by the Irish rap trio Kneecap, who have recently made waves with their film opening on 109 screens across Ireland.

Joining them will be electronic rising star Casso, The Scratch, Shane Codd, and indie rockers The Burma. Gates open from 5 pm to 11:30 pm, with entry restricted to ages 16 and up.

On Friday, Dance Night takes over with an impressive line-up of DJs including Bryan Kearney, Shugz, Symmetrik, and Will Atkinson.

This 18+ event will run from 6 pm to 11:30 pm, offering an unforgettable night for electronic dance music enthusiasts.

Saturday is a celebration of Irish heritage, headlined by the iconic folk band The Wolfetones.

Brogeal, Gearoid McCarthy, and Gary Og will also take the stage, making it a night of pure Irish culture.

Gates open from 3:30 pm to 11 pm, with entry for ages 18 and up.

The festival concludes on Sunday, August 18th, with an all-ages event featuring Qween, a Queen tribute band, along with the Dublin Gospel Choir and Guns Reloaded, a top Guns N’ Roses tribute act.

Gates open from 4:30 pm to 10:30 pm, with under-16s requiring adult supervision.

Car parking isn’t available directly at the festival site, but a park-and-ride system will be in operation.

In order to ensure as little disturbance to local stakeholders and residents as possible, Gardaí will be adopting a zero tolerance approach to parking infringements in the area.

Restricted items include food, drink, sharp objects, illegal substances, and offensive weapons, with entry refused to those deemed unfit due to alcohol or other substances.
