Letterkenny’s Cathedral Quarter is set to come alive on Friday, September 20th, as Culture Night returns with a lineup of exciting events.
Marking the most magical night of the year, Culture Night is a celebration of arts, heritage, and community, and this year’s festivities promise to be more captivating than ever before.
The highlight of the night will be an Open Office at No. 3 Church Lane, welcoming visitors from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Attendees will have the chance to explore the heart of the Cathedral Quarter project and learn about its ambitious initiatives and ongoing collaborations with Donegal County Council.
This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone eager to delve into the rich history and exciting future of Letterkenny’s Cathedral Quarter.
Adding to the excitement, the talented Elusive Theatre group will present two performances adapted from Brendan Behan’s renowned play ‘The Quare Fellow’.
These performances, scheduled for 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm, will take place in the newly refurbished yard behind No. 1 and No. 3 Church Lane.
Thanks to the hard work of Optum workers, who recently participated in a Volunteer Day, the yard has been given a fresh look just in time for Culture Night.
The marquee, funded by the Donegal Local Development Committee, will also ensure that the performances go ahead rain or shine, creating a warm and intimate setting for this theatrical treat.
Culture Night 2024 will be the first in several years where the Cathedral Quarter can be fully enjoyed in its unique ambiance.
After recent revitalisation efforts, locals and visitors alike can soak in the vibrant cultural energy of the area, and with a variety of other events happening nearby, the evening promises to be a memorable celebration of Letterkenny’s heritage and creativity.
