A WOMAN who became highly aggressive to Gardaí as they attempted to intervene in a row involving groups of people, was fined €250 at Monday’s sitting of Letterkenny District Court.
Nicole Hill, with an address at Chapel Street in Stranorlar, was present at the scene at 3.05am at Oliver Plunkett Road, Letterkenny, on the morning of August 18, last year.
Outlining the incident, Sergeant Jim Collins told the court the defendant had refused to desist when requested by Gardaí after she got involved during a dispute among a large group of people. “She started acting in a highly aggressive manner.”
The defendant was drunk at the time but was apologetic after she sobered up.
Defence solicitor, Donagh Cleary said his client was not involved in the altercation but intervened when Gardaí arrived on the scene. “It was somewhat embarrassing for her,” he said, adding that his client was a single mother.
The defendant had one previous conviction for a similar public order offence.
Judge Emile Daly imposed a fine of €250.
