LETTERKENNY Tourist Information Centre is to reopen to the public within weeks.
The centre, on the Neil T Blaney Road, has operated on a seasonal basis since January 2022. It will open its doors for a four-month period from June 1 to September 2025.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Fáilte Ireland told the Donegal News the majority of footfall in the area occurs during this busy four-month period, while resources are also in place outside of peak tourist times.
“There is an increasing trend for the provision of always-on digital visitor information, and Fáilte Ireland’s DiscoverIreland.ie website provides real-time visitor information on attractions, activities, and local businesses. Our staff in the tourist offices have significant knowledge of local experiences and provide valuable local content to support the website on a regular basis.
“In addition to the Letterkenny Tourist Information Centre, there is an information kiosk available at Letterkenny Bus Station. This comprises a video screen showing local things to do and see, a ‘you are here’ map board, and a brochure distribution rack with the Fáilte Ireland local map guides.”
