LETTERKENNY Rovers were disappointed with their league campaign, but the Brian McCormick Cup offers an opportunity to take something tangible from the season.
Rovers won promotion to the Temple Domestic Appliances Division One last season and it was expected that they would be able to compete at the upper echelons of that league.
However, it didn’t quite happen for Stephen McConnell’s side, who finished in fifth position out of ten teams.
That was a poor return considering the calibre of player at Leckview Park, and they will be a dangerous team in the cup.
They face Rathmullan Celtic in the Area Shield Final on Sunday at the Flagpole Field (kick-off, 1pm) and a win will set up a semi-final against Kildrum Tigers the following week.
