THE Letterkenny Pipe Band struck a high note at the World Pipe Band Championships over the weekend, competing in the fiercely contested Grade 4B category.
The grade, which drew 42 pipe bands from around the globe, was split into two qualifying heats.
Letterkenny delivered a standout performance in their heat, clinching first place out of 25 international competitors and securing a coveted place in the final.

The band fielded 25 players, nine of whom were under the age of 18-years-old.
For four of these young musicians, this was their very first experience competing on the world stage.
