Letterkenny optician’s appeal sees hundreds of glasses sent to Africa

ANDREA Devins Opticians in Letterkenny has wrapped up its recent Spectacles Appeal with amazing support from the local community.

Thanks to the generosity of so many people across Donegal, hundreds of pairs of pre-loved glasses have now been donated to the Lions Club for distribution to those in need in parts of Africa.

The donated glasses will be cleaned, sorted, and matched to individuals who might not otherwise have access to proper vision care.

For many, a suitable pair of glasses can make a life-changing difference, helping children to learn, adults to work and people of all ages to enjoy everyday life with clearer vision.

Andrea and her team extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who took the time to drop in their unused glasses during the campaign.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the response,” said Andrea.

“It’s been wonderful to see how many people wanted to support such a simple but meaningful initiative. Every pair of glasses really does have the potential to change someone’s life.

“The Lions Club does amazing work getting glasses to those who need them most, and we’re thrilled to do our bit to support that.”

Andrea and her team would like to thank everyone for their kindness and community spirit in making the campaign such a success.
