LETTERKENNY musician Gabriel Blake will be making his Glastonbury debut with his band The Murder Capital this weekend.
Gabriel spoke with the Donegal News ahead of the weekend and said the whole band is buzzing.
“When you start a band, performing at Glastonbury is your biggest goal,” he said bursting with excitement.
Gabriel fondly recalled watching The Arctic Monkeys performing at Glastonbury on TV as a teenager, the indie rock band will also performing at this year’s festival.
“If someone told me that at fourteen I would have fainted,” he laughed.
The Murder Capital’s performance in the iconic fields of Somerset follows a very busy touring season, which included gigs at Coachella in California, Primavera in Portugal and Medimex in Italy.
Earlier this year the band released their second album, Gigi’s Recovery that reached number one in the Irish charts. Last weekend they received an IMRO recognition award to mark their success.
The band has a very busy summer lined up. They will also performing at Electric Picnic later this year.
The Murder Capital will be performing on the Woodsies stage, Glastonbury at 3.15pm today.
