Letterkenny Memories’ video to be screened tomorrow

A SCREENING of the new Letterkenny Memories’ video will take place in Dillon’s Hotel on Monday, July 29 at 8pm.

The video includes a number of local people who tell their own story and reflect on a wide variety of topics.

The video features Margaret Tinney recalling how they bought their house on the Port Road in 1939, which was where the McKinney’s started making their sweets.

Eamon Harkin talks about why Letterkenny didn’t get an airport, and other important topics.

Neil Gallagher reflects on what it was like growing up in Letterkenny in the 1960s.

Jean Curran’s talk includes how her Irish Dancing group won the Irish Dancing competition at the first Letterkenny Festival.

She also talks about what it was like growing up on the Port Road.

Hugh Devlin talks about the Oldtown and how hundreds of years ago, the only entrance to Letterkenny was through the Oldtown.

Admission to the screening is free and all proceeds of donations made on the night will go to Vision Ireland.

Light refreshments will also be served on the night.
