Letterkenny leisure provider has an ‘aura’ of success

LETTERKENNY business and Ireland’s largest leisure provider, the Aura Holohan Group, was celebrating this week after double success at the All-Ireland Safety Awards in the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney last Friday.

The group, which operates in sport and leisure facility management, came home with two Category 1 awards; the Exceptional High Achiever Award and the National winner of the Sport & Leisure Award, the former has, to date, only been awarded to 18 organisations across the island of Ireland.

A leader in leisure facility management, architecture, consultancy and event management in ten Aura Leisure Centres nationwide, including 5 Anytime Fitness Clubs in Dublin, Kildare and Cork, one DKIT Sport in Dundalk and the Support Office and Holohan Leisure Centre also based in the capital.

They have won numerous awards in the past in the fields of Disability Inclusion, Health and Safety, Environmental Management and Quality Systems.

Group Health and Safety Manager Gerard Morgan, supported by Health & Safety Officer Dylan Dunleavy and a dedicated team of Operations Managers and Safety Committees across the entire Aura facilities, has been the driving force in achieving this accolade.

Speaking following the success, Gerard stated: “These awards recognise our team’s efforts and commitment to enhance further our safety culture. Safety Culture is to the core of our operations. Ensuring Safety, Health and Wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do for our employees and customers. We strive to push an open and positive safety culture based on mutual trust, engagement and ongoing training across the organisation.”

Chairman of the group, Gar Holohan was elated following the win, commenting: “We are delighted that our ongoing commitment to safety has, once again, been recognised as the best in the industry.
