THE LETTERKENNY branch of the Irish Farmers Association donated €1,000 to The No Barriers Foundation this week.
Raising the funds through their annual Dinner Dance, IFA Sheep Chairman, Adrian Gallagher said this donation is their way of “giving back”.
Choosing the charity as they are “local” to Letterkenny, Adrian described the work they do as being “unreal”.
The No Barriers Foundation is a not-for- profit organisation that improves the physical and mental health of those with physical and intellectual disabilities in the North West.
They offer one-to-one and group rehabilitation support for people that have suffered from a stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and other functional neurological disorders.
The facility, based in Pinehill Industrial Estate, Mountain Top, is home to a rehabilitation gym with specialised equipment.
This equipment allows anyone with a disability to train and improve their current level of physical and mental health by targeting mobility, strength and physical fitness regardless of their current baseline.
“What they offer people is unreal, and it is great to see it,” Adrian concluded.
