Gardai have sealed off a house in Letterkenny after reports of human remains being found.

Officers arrived at the site at Leck Cottages this morning and have begun clearing the area.

It’s understood the homeowner was given prior notice of the dig.

The remains are understood to be pre-2000.

A garda spokesperson said: “An Garda Síochána is carrying out a search in Letterkenny, Co Donegal. For operational reasons, An Garda Síochána has no further comment at this time.”
