by Louise Doyle

THE Silver Tassie Hotel in Letterkenny has paid a touching tribute to Max, the star dog of their Christmas video who has passed away.

The hotel shared a selection of photos of beautiful Max on their Facebook page, showing the much-loved dog enjoying Christmas festivities with customers and staff alike.

In one photo, Max is captured with his paws on a counter seemingly guarding three cocktails. In another, he is pictured donning a Santa hat as he sits with ‘Santa’ and some children by a Christmas tree.

A spokesperson for the hotel said their loyal companion will be “sorely missed”.

“Last week we said goodbye to lovely Max, the star of our Christmas video. Max would’ve been 16 this year and he will be sorely missed by a lot of people.

Many customers responded to the post to convey their sadness at the passing of Max. One person wrote: “So sorry to read this. What a fab dog he was and so very loved,” while another person wrote: “Max was the most beautiful dog, he was very special.”
