Bressie is headlining Saturday at Letterkenny Live.
THE countdown is on for this year’s second ever Letterkenny Live which promises to be even bigger and better on August 18 and 19.
Organisers have come up with a top line-up this year catering for all tastes from pop, rock to country.
Having secured substantial public funding from Donegal County Council and Failte Ireland this year, they have secured some top acts.
The Letterkenny Live stage will once again be located Oliver Plunkett Road, once again creating an urban amphitheatre.
Both nights kick off at 7.30pm and will finish at 11pm, early enough for families and young people to get home and for others giving plenty of time to visit local pubs and clubs who are already planning festival events for after the show.
On Saturday Night the headline act is Bressie, former lead singer of The Blizzards and Mentor on this year’s The Voice of Ireland on RTE.
Following a successful career with the Blizzards, the Westmeath man went to London where he has worked successfully as a producer and songwriter, while also setting himself up as a solo artist.
Top notch songs in the charts and exposure on RTÉ’s The Voice Of Ireland has meant Bressie’s fame as stepped up a gear, with the artist drawing large crowds where ever he performs.
Supporting Bressie on the night will be none other than stalwarts of Irish rock pop rock music Aslan, who will have the crowds singing a long to their classics. Also appearing on the bill are the Kanyu Tree, never off the radio these days, this band is one to watch.
Sunday is Country Night with the headline act anf one of the first ladies of Irish Country, Susan McCann, supported by Hugo and Off the Kuff and Trevor Loughrey.
Today, Susan still packs them in with her brand of down home country and she tours top cabaret venues at home in Ireland, England, and beyond. After 27 years, Susan continues to prove herself as one of Ireland’s most enduring and talented country superstars.
Hugo and Off the Kuff and Trevor Loughrey are two very popular local acts who pack out the dance halls where ever the go and no doubt they will have the Country fans jiving around Oliver Plunkett Road for Letterkenny Live.
