Letterkenny gets ready for Culture Night this Friday

DONEGAL County Council Art Service will host its ninth annual Culture Night this Friday. 

Culture Night is an all-island public event celebrating culture, creativity and the arts and Letterkenny’s 2017 programme offers 40 diverse events in 25 venues, completely free of charge.

All types of culture will be celebrated including visual art, music, theatre, sculpture, spoken word, dance, and moving image with indoor and outdoor events in a wide range of venues from the Masonic Hall to Wholegreen Cafe.

Other venues participating include Donegal County Museum, Regional Cultural Centre, An Grianán Theatre, The Central Library and Donegal County Council Heritage Office – to name but a few.

Voices will soar as special choir events take place around the Cathedral Quarter area. The evening will begin with local African Church, the Choir of the Church of Pentecost, performing at 6.15pm in the Pastoral Centre; next the Gaudium choir present high quality choral liturgies at 7pm in Conwal Parish Church before the Conwal Singers and guests host an evening of reflective choral music in St Eunans Cathedral from 8.30pm.

The Letterkenny Town Park will once again welcome families for a night of entertainment. Inishowen Carnival Group along with performers from the Aisling Academy & Dynamic Waves will present The Ancient Ones at 7.30pm and 9pm. The Spacescape team will create a beautiful illuminated installation inspired by the peaks of Donegal.
