A host of big names will be arriving in Letterkenny on Monday for the ‘Together for Creeslough’ concert in the Aura Leisure Centre.
The concert, which is a sold-out event, is in aid of the Creeslough tragedy where ten people lost their lives in an explosion at an Applegreen Service Station on the afternoon of Friday, October 7.
Boyzlife stars Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy will join Brian Kennedy, Moya Brennan, Mickey Joe Harte, The Whistlin’ Donkeys and others for the star studded event.
Co-hosts on the night will be Clannad’s Moya Brennan and Altan’s Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh.
It has since been announced that renowned pianist, Claire Bowes (nee Gallagher) who lost her sight in the Omagh bomb atrocity 25 years ago, will accompany the children’s choir that will be made up of pupils from the local schools.
Event organiser Joe Gallagher said he is delighted Claire will be playing on Monday night.
“Claire has shown great courage and strength after sustaining life-changing injuries in the Omagh bomb in 1998. Our ultimate aim is to give the people of Creeslough and surrounding towns a sense of hope through Monday night’s concert,” he said.
Organising Committee Member, Ciaran O’ Donnell said everything is going good in the lead up to the big night.
“Everyone that was on the list is coming and everything is set to go. It was a chance conversation with Brian McFadden and Joe Gallagher the day after the tragedy, there is going to be a big crowd there and I’d say it is going to be an emotional night. We are just fine tuning at the minute and we hope everything goes well on the night,” he said.
Doors will open at the Aura Leisure Centre on Monday at 7 pm and the concert will get underway at 8 pm.
