Letterkenny Gaels continued their unbeaten run in Division 3 with a good victory over St Naul’s at Pairc na Gael on Sunday afternoon.

Gaels got off to a great start when Conor McBrearty converted a penalty in the second minute. He was ably assisted by Cathal Doherty, who kicked three excellent points in the opening half. 

The Mountcharles men stayed in the game, with 1-3 from Declan Duignan including an excellent two-pointer. 

Gaels other first half scores came from McBrearty (two frees), Diarmuid O’Cathail, Callum McGilloway and Brian Diver.

Christian Ward replied for St Naul’s auls to leave it 1-8 to 1-4 at the break.

Three goals in the second stanza paved the way for the home side. Some slick moves resulted in McBrearty (2) and Shay Doherty finding the back of the net. 

They were ably assisted, with points from Ronan Frain (4) McGilloway (2) and Jack Keys. 

The visitors battled hard with scores from Ian Campbell (2) Thomas White (2), Duignan, Freddie Cullen and Tommy Friel and what looked like an own goal from a Gaels defender.

Aidy Glackin’s men are away to Robert Emmetts next, while Kevin Lyons’ men have a home match against neighbours Naomh Brid.
