Letterkenny University Hospital is the fourth most over-crowded hospital in the country today.
According to today’s INMO Trolley Watch, 41 patients are currently on trolleys at LUH with five of those patients aged under 16.
Fourteen of the patients are in the emergency department while 27 patients are on wards elsewhere in the hospital.
The top five most overcrowded hospital today are:
- University Hospital Limerick (111 patients)
- Cork University Hospital (62 patients)
- University Hospital Galway (61 patients)
- Letterkenny University Hospital (41 patients)
- Sligo University Hospital (35 patients)
Nationally, 527 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch. 385 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 142 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
